About

I’m Joselin Lai, MSW, RSW, a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist.
I work particularly with adults who feel like life has been disrupted — people who feel stuck, emotionally exhausted, are not functioning the way they used to, and are trying to rebuild daily life, confidence, self-trust, and a steadier sense of self and direction.
I see therapy as more than a place for symptom relief. It can also support the broader process of regaining stability, capacity, and direction after life has been disrupted.
My work is grounded in creating a space that feels thoughtful, respectful, and steady — a place where clients can feel supported, better understand themselves, and begin moving forward in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.
What it is like to work with me
Sessions are collaborative and paced with care. Depending on what feels most helpful, our work may include reflection, practical strategies, and gradual steps toward rebuilding steadier functioning, confidence, and direction.
My story
I bring over 17 years of experience in adult mental health and addictions, including several years in direct clinical practice as a social worker and psychotherapist.
Alongside my therapy work, my broader background in mental health systems and service delivery has shaped how I understand distress, recovery, and the realities of day-to-day functioning. It has deepened my appreciation for the ways stress, illness, trauma, and major life disruption can affect not only emotional wellbeing, but also routine, confidence, capacity, and a person’s sense of direction.
That broader perspective continues to inform the way I work. In therapy, I try to hold both the emotional and practical sides of healing in mind — offering care that is thoughtful, structured, and usable in real life.
